A Principal’s Job Is Never Done!
By
Heidi Richards
Principals
have a thirst for knowledge
And a yearning to inspire
To make a difference to others
Is what we really desire
Every
day we must
Walk in many shoes
Faculty, staff and students
And even parents too
From the moment we get to school
We are bombarded with requests
We put our other work aside
And do our very best
Our days are filled with interruptions
Pleasant and some unpleasant as well
Most of the time we just have to let go
And say to ourselves, “Thank goodness, there goes the bell!”
We
must be encouragers and motivators
As well as mentors and leaders
We must be challengers and decision makers
And role models for our teachers
We
help our faculty plan a curriculum
Designed to help our students do well
What we principals really want
Is for every student to excel
Our
mission is to bring out
The very best in everyone
And that’s why a principal’s job
Is never really done!
